When I link an excel 2007 spreadsheet (via special paste) in a powerpoint
2007 slide, I recieve the error as described on this Microsoft article ('Some
linked files were unavailable and can't be updated):
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/927284/en-us. ; Link unavialable when the
files are located on the network. If I move the files local, the problem
goes away. I downloaded and installed the hotfix the article mentions
(office-kb948943-fullfile-x86-glb.exe). This now allows me to succesfully
link source object (excel chart) into my presentation only when the chart and
presentation exist in the same network directory. I continue to recieve the
error messages if the files are in different network locations. Is there a
solution for dynamically linking network objects in powerpoint in various
network locations?
