Link via ODBC to Sybase ASE 12 without installing sybase drivers?

A

Andy

Hi,

I am struggling to link up Access via ODBC to a Sybase Database installed
onto a Unix box running a Solaris operating system . Apologies I think this
is probably basic stuff for you guys.

Can someone send me the link on how to set this up? In a previous company
they told me I had to install the Sybase ASE Open Client Drivers into the
Windows ODBC Data Source Administrator. However I think I can bypass this and
just configure the standard SQL driver that I can already see in the ODBC
Data Source administrator? Is this the case? If so how do I do it?

Thanks for any help,

Andy.
