I understand the difference between Embedding and Linking
an Excel spreadsheet into Word.
However, as I use Link very frequently in the office to
create a published document, what exactly will happen to
the recipient of this document that does not have access
directly to my excel files that are linked in?
What I know - they will open the file and get the "do you
want to update..." message. If they choose No, they get
exactly what I sent them. What if they choose Yes by
accident - will they get errors over the entire
document "source record not found" or something like that.
OR what if they choose "Update link" at some point while
reading the document.
In otherwords, can they ever see Error messages rather
then the spreadsheet that was sent?
I did not embed them as they changed regularly. I did not
make them pictures as they all will be translated later to
french and I want to maintain the links for immediate
updates to the french document.
