Linked CSV file produces #Num!

I regularly collect data from a bank account in comma delimited
format.

I have linked the CSV file to my database and I produce reports for
our organisation as needed.

Yesterday the linked table showed #Num! in two of the currency fields.

I have duplicated the link, using a different table name, and that one
shows the currency data as expected.

I appreciate that I could destroy the original and rename the new
table but I wopuld prefer to understand the problem.
