linked dBase 5 and Oracle data carryover after editing

I use Jet 4 SP8 to link a dBase 5 table to Access. Data
entry by a Form works fine, but, if a record is edited from
the Form, data from the edited record is carried over into
the next blank record after the first character is put into
the first field of the new blank record. This happens
whether the linked dBase table is indexed or not. My
daughter, a DBA, says she has this problem using Access
Forms as a front end for Oracle tables.
