Linked Project 2000 file embedded in Excel 2000 crashes

I am trying to link an embedded Project 2000 file in an
Excel 2000 file. Embedding the file is not a problem, but
when I link the two, excel crashes.

I need the calculations of excel, but the Gantt chart of
project. I tried the drift third party Gantt charts for
excel, but they don't have the power of project.

I need the project file embedded because of the people
viewing the material are savvy enough to open two seperate
files. =(
