Linked projects- start time defaulting

K

kippers

Hi,

I have a number of project plans all linked to a master plan so that I can
use it to gain a high level view and oversee projects. However, when I open
up the master plan on its own, all start times for the projects default to a
set date so the overall Gannt looks like a number of projects are all
starting at once. Only when I open up the corresponding lower level plan do
the start dates correct themselves.

Is there any way round this as I want to be able to view an accurate
overview without having to open all documents.

Any help gratefully appreciated,

cheers

Hi Kippers,

Welcome to this Microsoft Project newsgroup :)

How did you create the Master? The usual way is to create a master and a
resources pool and then share each project with the pool, and then insert
each project in turn into the master.

FAQs, companion products and other useful Project information can be seen at
this web address: http://project.mvps.org/faqs.htm

Hope this helps - please let us know how you get on :)
