Hi there,
I'm not sure if this is an Access question or not, but I thought I would
post it and see if someone might be able to help me out.
I have two computers, one at work and one at home. Both have Windows XP Pro
and Access 2003. I've set up a test database on both computers and linked to
the same tables on my web server. These tables are MySQL tables and I
connected to them using the MySQL ODBC 3.51 Driver which I am able to connect
to without any problem at all on both systems.
Once I connect to the tables at home, that's when the problems begin. At
any point in time, could be 30 seconds or 5 minutes, I recieve an error
saying: "ODBC --call failed. [MySQL][ODBC 3.51 Driver][mysqld-4.1.14]MySQL
server has gone away
(#2006)". I have to restart my application before I can reconnect to the
remote tables again.
At work, the connection seems to be solid and from what I can tell, there
isn't any breaks in the connectivity.
Does anyone know what might be causing this problem and where I may be able
to look to start troubleshooting??
Thanks in advance for any help you might be able to provide me!!
