Linked Visio Diagram within Word will not display Screen Tips...

The screen tips on my diagram display in Visio, but once the diagram is
linked to a Word document they no longer appear. Is there a way to turn them
on?

I should add that I'm running Word 2003 and Visio for Enterprise Architects
(11.4301.8036).
