Linking Access to a different program

Does anyone know of a program I could use to display a
floorplan and then display the results of an Access table
or query when the mouse is moved over areas of the
floorplan.
I would like to create a casino floorplan and display the
slot machine information or results when the mouse is
moved over the slot machine on the floorplan. All slot
machine information is held in Access tables and it should
be a case of displaying an Access table or the results of
an Access query on the floorplan when the mouse is moved
over the slot machine. I thought about doing this with
Excel and tried it without realizing that I cannot display
the result of an Access query as a comment in Excel.
Any ideas or suggestions as to go about this would be a
great help. I am completely stuck with this at the moment.

How about using Visio?

With VBA code and ADO/DAO we could populate a TaskBar with Custom properties
for a shape -- the custom property would get data from MS-Access.

Visio could handle the drawing layout etc pretty well ..
