Here's the scenario. On worksheet1, I have clients' names
in column1. On worksheet2 in column1, I pasted a link to
the "Client Name" column in worksheet1. This way I can
enter, or edit client names in worksheet1 and have those
same entries duplicated and exactly mirrored in
worksheet2. My goal is to have distinct worksheets on
which I may enter a particular type of data about my
clients without having to re-enter the client's name again
in the new worksheet. For example, on worksheet1, I will
manage client names, their i.d. numbers, preferences, etc.
in various columns; while on worksheet2, I will keep
contact info., such as addresses, phone numbers, etc. in
various columns.
Here's the rub. When I sort the data on worksheet1 by
client names (A-Z to Z-A, e.g.), all of the other columns
in worksheet1 sort relative to its respective client name,
just the way it's supposed to, so that the customer number
for Adams stays with Adams, and Zanks' customer number
stays with him, etc. And, on worksheet2, the linked client
names in column1 sorted accordingly and exactly mirrored
the sort that I just did in worksheet1. However, the
other column rows on worksheet2 do NOT sort respective to
the client's name in column1. The result is that Adams'
phone number is now Zanks' phone number and vice-versa.
So, how do I get those column rows to stay relative to
column1 in worksheet2?
Thanks, Randy
