Linking Excel data to MS Project

K

K. Georgiadis

I have used Project years a while back but never had to
consider this:

Can MS Project import data from Excel (or linked to Excel
data)? Any references/articles you can provide on this
topic would also be greatly appreciated

Hello,
If the data in Excel is organized in columns, with labels on the first row,
you can import it in Project via a map :
File / Open / Type of file : Microsoft Excel workbook(xls)..
then follow the instructions.
Hope this helps,

You can also do paste-links but it assumes that the excel file is not moved
around...

It's also possible to use MS Project's VBA (Visual Basic for
Applications) interface to bring data from Excel into MS Project.
