linking from a web page to a specific location in a word document

Hi

I am unable to link from a HTML page to a specific
location in a word document. I have done this with pdf
documents using page numbers and named destinations. I
tried creating bookmarks in Word documents and said
xxx.doc#bookmark but doesnot work neither does
xxx.doc#page=pagenumber.

I use Word2000.

Do let me know if there is/not a way to do this.
