Linking MS files to a Visio diagram

What is the best way to save a Visio diagram so the links I have embedded in
the Visio document stay linked on SAVE ? I've inserted objects into a Visio
diagram and these objects are linked to Excel worksheets and Word docs.

Are you sending this to other people? If so, can you embed the excel/
word documents int the drawing. This can be done by going to Insert |
object | from file, then browsing to the file in question, click
insert and then make sure to click the check box for insert as icon.

Hi Katina.
Yes. The Visio diagram will be used by other people. And you must know that
some of the people using the Visio file only have Visio viewer. I had
embedded the excel file into the drawing as you said. My problem is,...I need
to know what the best way to save the Visio file is. So when others use the
Visio diagram the embedded links work. When I save the Visio file none of the
embedded links remain. I tried to save the Visio file as an html. page but
the embedded links do not work that way either.

Does it have to be a visio file? If you have the full/standard
version of adobe pdf you can convert it to a PDF and add the links in.
