Linking MS Project Task Information with MS Outlook

Gidday All,

Does anyone know how to get MS Project to automatically send an E-mail to a
nominated party via MS Outlook, pending expiration of a milestone in MS
Project? This seems such a logical thing to do, i.e. an automatic reminder to
complete an assigned task.

This functionality is all built into Project Server. You could write VBA
macros to do this, but it would be tricky, especially with the Office
"security" messages this would trigger.

You could also go into PWA and set up alerts in there. I can't remember the
specific steps on 2003 but on 2007 just go to server settings and then Alerts
and Reminders.

One of the challenges here is that you will need to open the plan to invoke
the sending of email.

Why not create a view which filters all outstanding tasks/assignments ?

As Rod says, the email function is available with Server.
