Rob,

How did you respond to this poster? Your post does not show up for me, and I
have noticed that this happens periodically. Are you using the forum instead
of NTTP? Makes me wonder just how many original posts I don't see.

Hi David, It does seem lately these phantom postings are showing up. I visited
the web interface the other day, spied a Publisher question that wasn't on my
usenet. I answered it and both the original query and my answer showed up later
on Microsoft Mail newsreader.

Hiya Mary,

Thanks. I pinged Rob because I have noticed this happening at least three
times with his posts, so wondered if he was using the web interface.

No...with WLM and nntp...it's weird this has been happening on & off for a
while now. I can't see my own reply either.

I think MS is messing around with nntp trying to interface with the "new"
forums

Nothing will be simple...you will have to do some learning.

If you can find a copy of FrontPage 2003 you might give that a shot...or
Expression Web (FP's replacement) you can download the trial from Microsoft
(there's a learning curve).

Publisher "may" work for you depending on what kind of website you intend to
create...if it's simple...Pub may work.

Serif's WebPlus may be a better option then Publisher...they have a free
version and a pay-for version...two different websites same company. I kinda
like this one for newbies actually.

Maybe it has something to do with *Use Newsgroup Messaging Rating Service*. The
MVP icon shows up on your messages.

The MVP thingie began appearing when I started using Windows Live Mail
instead of OE to view ngs.

The disappearing replies only happens on MS public server, not the private
one...it's been discussed in private.serverstatus...but I don't understand
what the heck they're saying half the time :)
