linking picture to caption

hi all,

wxp pro sp2, office 2003 sp2,

i am writing a document. it is 500+ pages at the moment. it has a lot
figures and tables. i have used captions and cross-references for the figures
and the tables. i have on many occasions now having to move the figures and
the tables around. i did these by highlighting the caption and the relevant
figures or tables followed by cut and paste to where required. on a few
occasions now i found that i have either forgotten the caption or the actual
figures and tables during the higlighting/cut/paste process.

is there a way to link the caption to the figure so that they are actually
one object so that i can move them as a unit at all time?

thanks for your advice/help.

You can insert both figure and caption inline and put both in a frame (NOT a
text box--use the Insert Frame button on the Forms toolbar), then move the
frame.

I like to put the graphic and caption in a table. That allows me to
position two photos side by side, with appropriate captions centered
underneath, and other such things.
