Linking projects

I need to manage a Master Schedule which has about 10 projects associated
with it.
The subproject plans are written and maintained by various project managers.
For some reason not all the projects appear to be linked and so when a PM
updates their individual project plan, it does not update in the Master
Schedule.

Is their a quick and easy way for me to link their projects to the existing
Master?

Thanks
Jo

Just to reiterate Rod's point.... the file name consists of the complete path
to the exact file:
\\Server\Folder\SubProject1.mpp
\\Server09\Folder12\Folder1\SubProject2.mpp
\\Server23\Folder8\Folder4\MasterProject.mpp

If either of these ever changes, you are in a lot of trouble, especially if
there is linking of constraints between SubProject1, SubProject2, etc.

What we've done in the past is demand that all files linked to Master.mpp be
contained within the same folder as Master.mpp. It is primitive and
sometimes irritating, but this level of enforcement works well at my current
client.

Thanks Rod - excuse the confirmation but you're saying if Project A is in the
Master, but isn't linked so that when the PM makes changes on his copy on the
server, the changes are not updated on the Master, just delete Project A in
the master and insert project A again.... and from then on, any updates to
Project A are linked back to the master plan??
