Linking references to auto generated numbers

Is there any way to tio automatically update references to
an automatically generated list number when the list numbers
change?

40 Arbitrary Text

B10 This line refers to line 30 above
B20 Arbitrary Text
B30 Arbitrary Text
B40 Arbitrary Text
B50 Arbitrary Text

New we delete line 10, so the first list becomes 10 through
40, and the text that used to be on line 30 is now on line
20.

The desired goal is to have the line B10 reference to line
30, automatically change to 20.
Can this be done in any version of MS Word?
How can this be done?

For your second list, insert a cross-reference to each of the numbers in the
previous list (and type in the letter B).
