Linking Schedules

Greetings Fellow Project Users!!!

What is the best way to link schedules? I want several
tasks on one schedule file to link to other tasks in
another schedule file. If I can get the "successors" to
slip automatically in the one file with the slips of the
predecessors in another schedule it would SAVE me a lot of
time! Has anyone had success with interlinking projects?

Several years ago I called MSProject Tech support and they
said "Don't link schedules together because it's an
underdeveloped area of the software". This was in Project
98. Now I'm using Project 2000 BUT can also use MSP2002
(but would rather not since MSP2002 has not been widely
deployed in my company yet.

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!

Hello Sandra,

Create a temporary window with all the projects you want to link :
open the projects, then Window / New Window... select all the files and
click OK
Now, to create a link between 2 tasks, select the Predecessor, press the
Ctrl key, select the Successor, and click the Link Task button in the tool
bar.
....
Save the elementary files. You can also save the master project file (in the
consolidated window) but it's not mandatory.
