linking spreadsheets

I have a spreadsheet that has certain info linked to another one from a
different dept (master spreadsheet). The spreadsheets provide info on
various depts.

The master spreadsheet sometimes adds new lines for new depts. Is there a
way to have these new lines added to my linked spreadsheet and have the
linked cells ( I only link 2 columns) updated on my spreadsheet.
