Hey,
i have linked tasks of a project to another project. when i update those
task in original project ,links dont get updated infact some kind of error
occurs during updation saying that "unable to update links" also if i try to
update from links using tool->links, even that doesnt work. Both of these
projects are published.

removing and reapplying links worked initially but now its not working at
all. originally i was using a marco to link the task of one project to
another. Every time a opened the project(containing links) the links couldnt
be restablished. Now even when i do it manually (pastespecial) and close and
open project again all the links break. i think it has something to do with
memory.

Norin,
First of all, Paste Links are very fragile and subject to corruption. I
sounds like that is what is happening in your case. Some of the things
that can corrupt Paste Links are:
1. Moving either the source or destination files
2. Not saving both the source and destination files (in that order)
after links have been edited
3. Linking fields calculated by Project (depends on the field).

Since both files are published I highly suspect the links are getting
caught up in the first issues noted above. I suggest you try using
external predecessors/successors (if applicable) instead of Paste Links.
They seem to be a little more robust.

Hope this helps.
