Linking to a secured Database

G

Geraint

Hi,

If a database is unsecured you can select it and link to it but with a
secured database you access it via a shortcut that references a .mdw file
and as such I cannot link to it in the same way. Does anyone know how you
do this?

Thanks,

Geraint

Once you've logged into the secure front end, the same permissions connect
to the back-end. The shortcut to connect to the front-end looks like:

"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office\MSACCESS.EXE"
D:\Projects\Secure_FE.mdb /wrkgrp C:\Projects\Secure.mdw

The same MDW file should give or deny permissions on the back-end data.
