Linking to Accessdb on shared Drive

I have an application installed on several PC's all of which have Access
installed. I now want to share common data (which all users will update) by
splitting the db and placing the tables on a shared drive. Do I need Access
installed on the server which has the drive where the shared tables will sit
? My guess is that I won't but I'd like to be sure.

John,

No you would not need Access on the server. Access is a "file based" or
"file share" application where you only need the application installed on
the client/workstation much like all the other Office programs (Word, Excel,
Powerpoint, etc).

You do need to make sure that all users have full access to the folder where
your .mdb data file resides.
