Linking To an Exchange Public Folder

C

Cory Blythe

I'm using exchange 5.5 and MS Access 2002

When I try and link to a contact file in a public folder I
get the following error.

The MAPI store 'Contacts' is known but not available in
the current profile. This can occure if you use a profile
that is designed for working offline from a server and try
to link to a folder or address book on the server. The
wizard is unable to link to it.

I honestly hav no idea what it means, I'm logged in to an
administrator account.

Can anyone help me or do I need to post more information.

Thanks for the help

Hi Cory,

At a guess it means what it says. Exchange and Outlook allow multiple
profiles per user, giving access to different services or mailboxes from
the same server. You can get to them via the Mail applet in Control
Panel. You may need to set up a separate profile without offline access
and use this.

Possible places to look for information: http://www.slipstick.com,
http://www.mvps.org/exchange/ .

Thanks for the information, I created a new account and I
was able to like to the Contacts.

Now I have another problem and perhaps someone could point
me at a reference book so I don't spam the forum with
newbie questions.

I have linked my Contact table to access but when I open
up and view I don't see all of the fields I expected, for
example the email that appears when I view the contact in
Outlook is no where to be found in the table I have linked
to access. Is there a reference where I can find the
exchange data structure, or at least an explanation as to
where these fields that appear in outlook live in exchange?

Thanks for the Help
