Linking to an .exe file and retaining the link

Barbara

I have Windows 2000 Professional and have a substantial
PowerPoint presentation (256 slides) that i need to link
to an .exe file. (We have permission to use it in our
seminars) I can establish the link to run the animation
file and save it but the minute i close the file - not
move it or anything but just close it - the link breaks.
The instructors need to be able to access this animation
from any slide in the presentation. I have linked it to a
button on the Master Slide and placed the presentation and
the .exe in the same folder. Does anyone know why i can
establish the link but not retain it? Please help!!!

Thank you,
Barbara

Your best bet is to make sure your link is in the same folder as the
presentation. I believe PowerPoint assumes that the link is in the same
folder. Perhaps your PowerPoint is resetting the link upon saving.

.
It is in the same folder now. I have tried as hyperlink,
Run program....anything i can think of. It runs
beautifully when first linked. The minute i close
PowerPoint and re-open i get the 'Unable to Locate File'
warning! This is an integral part of our seminar and it
is really urgent that i find out how to make this linke
remain active. Any other input is most welcome!

Thank you,
Barbara
