Linking to an .exe file

B

Barbara

I have had a request to use more animation in
presentations that we use - specifically an .exe file that
we have permission to use. They want to be able to access
this file from any slide so i placed an action button on
my Master and have tried both hyperlinks and 'run program'
features. They work fine on my computer but these will
need to be burned to CD and passed out to all of the
consultants. Is there a way to link the files, or embed
the files, so that the link remains intact when they boot
up the CD? Can a link be included with a .pps? I need to
burn these cds in less than a week and i have reached the
end of my creativity! Help!

Thanks,
Barbara

Put your .exe file into the same folder as your presentation before you create
the link. The links should then stay intact when you move your presentation and
..exe file to your CD.

When you set the Action Settings to "Run Program," you can edit the link
right there. If it contains the full path, you should cut out everything
but the file name (i.e., cut the C:\My Documents\ or whatever comes
before the file name itself).
