Linking to AS400 from Access 2000

I am trying to link AS400 tables to Access 2000, but I
keep getting the message "ODBC - call Failed". Currently
I am using XP pro (had the same link problem using
Windows 2000), Client Access ODBC driver (32 bit) Version
8, Client access express V5R1. I can transfer the same
tables into Excel 2000 without any problems.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
