Linking to AutoCad files

Martha,

The answer to your question is yes you can link AutoCAD to
and Access database.

You can use VBA in AutoCAD to "put" information into your
Access tables.

You will need to use ADO or DAO. I personally use the
DAO (Data Access Object). DAO is on its way a out though
based on the information I read.

ADO is the current object to use.

Your questions is very vague so I cannot give you more
detials other then yes it is doable.

If you do not have experience with VBA in AutoCAD I would
recommend checking out the WEB and some books regarding
AutoCAD VBA.

I do not have a book specfically for AutoCAD VBA.

There is a great resource at the AUGI.com (AutoCAD User
Group Internation) web site. The resource is ths VBA
guild in the guild list. Check out the site if you have
questions, it is free to join. There are some guru's out
there who can give you assistance when you are stuck.

Hope this helps and is not too much.

Regards,
Tony
