Linking to dbIII and db IV

When I was on '98 I could link to dbIII files. Now that I
am on 2000 I get an 'unexpected format' error. I have
installed all the service packs recommended by MS and have
the ISAM driver file listed in the Access Help section
that was supposed to fix the problem, but I still can't
link.
Does anyone have a solution?

You did not mention the version of Access.
A97 read that stuff natively.
A2000 and later require things like the Borland Data Engine.
