Linking to Genesis

I am working with a secondary school adult vocational registration database
using Access 2000 and have been told, by the people opereating Genesis that
an Access database cannot link to a Genesis Student Information System
database table. This table contains student demographics that is used by the
school systemand entering data into the Access database would duplicate data
and effort. Has anyone had any experience with using data through linking
from or providing data through linking to a Genesis Student Information
System databases?

I know nothing about "Genesis Student Information System" but would
expect to find that the application has been built on some one of the
many fairly common platforms. Many, not all, provide ODBC drivers.

I'd push back on the people who say you can't do it and resolve who
made the application. Then go directly to the manufacturer for help.
