Hi,
I have created two tables and two forms for them. I open a form I have been
using for years and use the subform wizard to add the first form as a
subform to it. I choose the field ID and the field ID created in the
subforms Tbl (type number Long integer which is correct way.) to relate the
two together on.
This was done in a test new creation and worked fine.
Exit design view and try it, navigating one record forward sees the warning
:-
The LinkMasterFields property setting has produced this error: error
accessing file. Network connection may have been lost.
I am not networked so that is no file access problem. It was only the
addition of the subform, choosing a predesigned form that caused this.
Accessing a file, what file, an access dbase is a file, so if its open, its
been accessed ok !
Go forward another record and that warning appears again, fwd again and
there it is. then go back one record, there it is, back another an no
warning, forward one, no warning, until I get to the next record that has
yet to be navigated to, then the warning again.
Damn...why this when the form and table are carefully/correctly made and the
correct fields are there for selecting as the relationship ?
So delete the subform I guess...I have deleted the subform, went 'no to all'
for save changes to switchboard, relationships, the recipient form, none of
which had any changes to save as no changes were made that were not undone,
if any...truly nothing to save !
Now just navigating forward one record on the original form I have used for
years, that always worked, also exhibits this warning.
The LinkMasterFields property setting has produced this error: error
accessing file. Network connection may have been lost.
Hells bells...
Now what has happened ?...messed up the original functionality and all I did
was remove the subform using delete, the subform that caused this error.
