links between Visio files then saved to html

When you are in Visio you can have a link between one Visio file to say page
3 in a different Visio file. The problem I have is I need to convert these to
html. When you save as html the link remains to the Visio file and won't
work. What I really want is a link from one html file to, say, the 3rd page
of the 2nd html file (both created from the visio "save as a webpage"

Really need help on this one!!

Cheers

Bec,

Just to be clear on my terminology first:
"Source" drawing is the one containing the hyperlink.
"Target" drawing is the one to which you want to link.

To link to a drawing saved as HTML you need to save the target drawing as
html first, then create a link to it from the source drawing, So:
1) Save target drawing as HTML, then place it on server in desired location.
2) Create hyperlink in source document to location of target html document
on server.
3) Save source document as html.

The above steps will create a link to page one of the target document.

To link to second or subsequent pages you need to dig one level deeper and
then experiment a bit. When Visio creates web pages from drawings, it creates
an index page (that's the one you linked to above) and it creates a subfolder
containing all of the graphics, secondary web pages and various other gizmos.
The key here is the filenames of the secondary pages, which are jpg_1.htm,
jpg_2.htm, jpg_3.htm, etc. You can experiment by creating links from your
source document directly to these pages instead of the index page. You won't
get the pan/zoom and other panes on the left without some additional
exploration, but I hope this info gets you closer...

That's a bit clearer but I have already experimented with linking to the
various other pages once the html is created. It seems to create two files to
do with each page in visio. So I have tried linking to both of those. It
either comes up with an internet error saying page not found or it goes back
to the first page.

Any other ideas?

Thanks
Bec
