links in excel...need help

Hi,

Would you happen to know how to switch the setting in
excel so that when I doubleclick on a cell with a link to
another tab (worksheet), it will take me to that tab and
specifically the cell referenced?

Thx,

Go to Tools/Options/Edit and turn off "Edit directly in cell".

Additionally, if you would like to keep the edit functionality you can
utilize the Auditing toolbar (Tools/Auditing/Show Auditing Toolbar) to
trace formula precedents.

For example the method you are currently using will only allow you to
navigate to the first cell referenced in the formula. The Trace
commands on the Auditing toolbar will display all cells referenced in
the formula. If a cell contains a reference to another worksheet a
worksheet icon will display. Double-clicking the icon will open the Go
To dialog box you can use to navigate to the cell.
