I have this problem that almost all links made in a
document converted to a url's. But I would want it to
reference a document on a mapped network drive. Anybody
has a reg key (GPO) for this?

What version of Office? In Office 2003, you can open Word's
Tools->Auto-correct Options->Autoformat as You Type and uncheck the option
to automatically form URLs from the Web and File Locations.

I don't know if this is something you can set with the CIW or not since I
have not had time to investigate the one for 2003.
