Links on website written with FP 2002 do not work on Netscape...

The links on my website (written with Frontpage 2002) do not work with
Netscape or Mac Internet Explorer. Does any one know why and how I can fix
this?

You need to provide a URL to a page where this is happening, because using any version of FP should
not effect the usability of hyperlinks.

You have used VML Graphics, which is only supported in IE 5 and up browsers under Windows. It is not
supported by any other browsers. Remove all VML Graphics (WordArt, items created with the drawing
tool bar).

Use plain text for your content and hyperlinks. This will also give the search engine content and
keywords to index, since you are trying to sell products, this would be important to you

Also remove all spaces from file and folder names, as will break your links in some browsers.

None of the links. I wrote my web host and he suggest my links are commented
and to redo them. I have no idea what that means. I did put the links in a
text box so I could position them better. Should they not be in a text box?

Text boxes use VML graphics, see Thomas' remarks about the use of VML.
Use tables to layout your page, or if you have the skills, use layers. Text
boxes should be avoided unless you know that *all* your audience will be
using the latest Internet Explorer.

Thank you. I worked on this all day. FrontPage has a text box and I was
putting all the links in the box so it would be easier to position them on
the page. I redid the index page and everything is working great. Thanks
again.

The reason the text boxes were cut off , is when I made them narrower I
forgot to lenghten the box. I just did that and it looks OK in Netscape 7.2
and the Links work. Thanks - I was trying to do a lot yesterday with the site
- a customer in Japan was waiting so she could buy. The sale went thru and
all is well in NM. There's a bunch of tweaking on the rest of the site to get
everything to work OK - but at least it's functional.

My spell checker should have gotten that....then again mush is a word. After
the last 2 days of fixing this, I sure feel like mush.
