links stop working in Word after upgrade from 2k to 2003

After upgrading my XP computer from Office 2k to Office 2003 the links in my
document no longer work Error message indicates Word cannot open specified
file.
Here is a modified example of the link. Any suggestions would be most
appreciated

.../../../folder/folder/folder%20folder/Release%20of%20Information.doc
