Links to Closed Worksheets-Excel 2000

I have started to have a problem with my links where the
link was created to an open spreadsheet. When I open the
worksheet with the link where the linked spreadsheet
isn't open it can't find the source spreadsheet. It means
that I am constantly changing the source. My files are
saved on a network in many subdirectories. Thanks.
