Links to deleted project

One of our Project Managers had some linked projects and was experiencing
some issues (I'm not sure what) and deleted all sub projects in an effort to
fix the issues. But now there are still external successors to those
projects and under Differences it shows "File Not Found". When I go to open
the main project now it shows no tasks (although the number for the Gannt
chart starts at 810). When I try to delete the links it just gives me an
error and wants to Restart Project.

Any ideas other than a db restore of how to delete the links and see the
tasks again?

Quickest cleanest way is to restore database before the PM did that. That is
why we do not allow master projects in the tool.
