Links to other websites are slow

Ray

When someone sends me a link to another website in an e-
mail, outlook 2002 is very slow to send me to that site.
Internet Explorer does not respond slowly by itself.
Outlook didn't always respond so slowly, so something
must have changed. I tried to remedy the problem by
archiving old data in Outlook and erasing all old
internet and cookie files from Internet Explorer, but
neither made any difference. I use Hotmail for my
mailbox and have a cable modem for my internet service.
Any suggestions?

Shot in the dark here, but try Tools>Options>Other and uncheck "Enable
InstMessag..."

Well, I gave it a shot, but no go. It took about 20
seconds to connect to a link from an e-mail as opposed to
about 2 when accessed directly from Internet Explorer.
Any other suggestions? I appreciate your thoughts.
