Links

I have an Excel workbook that wrongly believes it has links with another.
The source file that it believes itself to be linked with does not even
exist. But I can find no way to delete reference to the so-called ³link².
Therefore every time the work book file is opened it asks if I want to
update the linked information. How do I get rid of this confounded message
box? I can find no way to delete the link reference from the pop-up list
when choosing Edit/Links

Links can come in several varieties, including worksheet formula
links, worksheet name links, workbook name links, hyperlinks, etc.

Choose Insert/Name/Define to see if you've got any named range links.

A useful tool for finding links is FINDLINK.XLA by Bill
Manville, which you can download from

http://www.bmsltd.co.uk/mvp/

and which will show you every link in your book and give you an
opportunty to delete them.

It's an .exe file, but Stuffit Expander will decompress it. You
don't say which version of XL, but if you have XLv.X, you may
also need to install the VBA Converter patch from

Mactopia downloads:
http://www.microsoft.com/mac/download/default.asp

before you run Bill's add-in.

The add-in was developed in Windows, so the userforms are a bit
squished, but they're readable.
