List Amnesia Word 2003

I have tried for two hours to set the indents to 0 and
0.25 inches and styles for a new two-level list. Each
time I make these settings and close the list setup
utility, I see the indents have switched back to 3.75 and
4 inches. When I reopen the list, my paragraph indents
are lost and my style settings erased.

considered a *numbering property* rather than a *paragraph
property*.
