List and Header Numbering in XP

Hi -
With the help of MVPs, I successfully "fixed" list and header numbering
in previous versions of Word using some VBA.

We recently upgraded to XP - and I have returned to template making
after a while.

My question: does this still need to be "fixed" in XP, or do outline
lists and all that finally work as they should ;-)

Hi Joshua

You'll need to tell us which of the various VBA fixes you used or are
currently in the templates, and in what version (Word 97 or 2000).

My understanding is that there were some fairly major changes of stroke in
the "paddling under the surface" between Word 2000 and Word 2002 (Office
XP). Some things seem to work better (in particular, I don't think you need
to link styles to named List Templates to prevent list gallery "musical
chairs" any more), but there are (surprise!) still some glitches, including
some new ones. If you have a choice I would update to 2003 which is a bit
better.
