Created a new worksheet with list. list has simple formulae. when i add a new row to list, the entire column of formulae 'break', returning "#VALUE" instead of result. In other words, formulae results are fine when i first create the list with rows of initial values, but as soon as i add a new row it breaks for all rows.

Might be helpful if you gave some details - e.g., what formula(e), what
initial values?

thanks JE. It doesn't seem to matter what formulae. I'm using a simple multiply one column by another in same row, ie =D3*G3. I used both named ranges and cell refs. the ref cells are all simple numbers. i could upload a file if that helps.

OK, thanks to suggestions, have some more clues to this: two issues affect this: use of named ranges and use of VLOOKUP. One of the cells referred to in the breaking formula has data from VLOOKUP function (read from another sheet in same workbook). When both these conditions exist the formula breaks with new row.
