List of known File Types for Office Applications

I'm trying to find a way of getting a list of known file extensions (in
string format) for various Office applications. For example, if my plugin is
running in Word, i'd like to get all the known file types: "docx", "doc",
etc.

Anyone have any insight?

You'll want to iterate through all the root level file extension keys
(those that start with ".") in HKCR, looking for ones that have a
default value that starts with "Word."
