list of tables

hi all
I am working on my thesis in the list of tables I don't word table t
appear in the list I only want to see the number , title and page
e.g
instead of
table 1.1 blah blah blah bla
..........................................................25

I want some thing like
1.1 blah blah blah bla
..........................................................25

I am using word 2007

When you insert the Captions, you will have to tick the box to "Exclude the
label from the caption" and if you want the word table to appear as part of
the caption, it will have to be entered manually before the caption.

thanks for your replay
but this does not work coz if I ticked that box it will remove the
label from the table title where I want it to remain in the text but not
in list of tables

You can't have it both ways. You will have to type it into the body of the
document if you do not want it in the list of tables.

As a workaround, you could complete the document with all tables,

refresh the list of tables, and then manually delete the word "Table"
from each entry in the list of tables.
