Lists Versus Outlines

Hi

I wonder if any of you guru's out there could shed any light on the
considerations of choosing between applying a List or an Outline? What are
the pros and cons of one over the other? Advantages versus disadvantages? I
use a lot of customized outlines and they seem to offer a greater range of
choices but can also be more difficult to maintain and troubleshoot in the
event of a problem. Thanks much!

If by list you mean list style, nobody on these newsgroups seems to
recommend them. It is more convenient to apply numbering by using
numbered styles.

For single-level numbering, you can use the built-in List Number
styles: Hold the SHIFT key while clicking the arrow next to the Style
box on the Formatting, and then scroll the list to apply the one you
want. Of course, you can modify the style as needed.
