In Word 2000 how do I find out which List I'm in so that I can replace the 1
in the following code with the current list number? Or is there something
like CurrentList I can use intead of 1?

ActiveDocument.Lists(1).ConvertNumbersToText

Does Selection.Range.ListFormat.ConvertNumbersToText do what you want?

Thanks - I can make do with this as long as I select the whole list first or
work backwards through it.
