LITERACY

S

Stuart VW

I would expect an organisation such as Microsoft to be aware of and committed
to at least the most basic level of literacy.

This appears not to be the case because on the automated phone product
activation, the spokesperson uses an expression along the lines "the first
group of numbers ARE". How can a singular entity such a a group assume a
plural verb?

So, I presume you have never made a grammatical faux pas, ever, not once in
your entire spoken life?
