Loaction of mail

I have crashed my XP instalation so it won't start. I have put the old
harddisk in another computer and can see all the files. (I'm booting from
another disk). The problem:

Every thread in this forum says that the mail is stored in the
applicationdata/../outlook folder. Not so. In the outlook folder theres about
100 kb of files. On the computer where I have installed the crased disk its
the same. The question: Is there any other location I can look?

I have also searched the disks for any .pst files with no succses.

Not true. It should be in ...Local Settings\Application
Data\Microsoft\Outlook. Note that it's a hidden file and unless you enable
the viewing of hidden files and folders, it may be difficult to find.

PSTs can be in any folder on the drive to which you have permission.
Searching will find them ONLY if you enable viewing hidden fils and folders.

I have tried this. I have enabled viewing of hidden files. Still I can not
find any files. Any other idea of finding the file?

In addition to setting Folder Options to view Hidden Files and Folders, you
need to tell the Search tool to "Search system folders" and "Search hidden
files and folders".

Usually not, but it can't hurt. PSTs would appear in a system folder only
if deliberately placed in one.

When I experimented with this, it semed to me that if Folder Options are set
to show hidden files and folders, then Search didn't need to be told to look
in them, but it's been a while so maybe I don't recall correctly. It can't
hurt, though.
